• Keith and Jonathan discuss why the Grammy award for Best Traditional Blues Album are an indicator of how blues is still relevant to us today and how these awards help show the expectations for future viability of the music, and we describe each of the albums and our impressions of each.

1. A Stranger Here by Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, a contemporary of Woodie Guthrie.  The track we play is “Rising High Water Blues” and is available on Amazon.
2. John Hammond’s Rough and Tough, also on Amazon.  We provide a sample of “Got to Find My Baby” for you.
3. The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band offers up Blue Again; “Looking For Somebody” is the track, the album is on Amazon.
4. Stomp! The Blues Tonight is from Duke Robillard of the Fabulous Thunderbirds; Amazon has “Three Hours Past Midnight” and the rest of the album for order.
5. “Night Watchmen Blues” by Billy Boy Arnold is off of Chicago Blues: A Living History, a compilation of work available on eMusic or Amazon.
